Another online resource for silent film

The University of Washington has made an archive of silent films available via Alexander Street Press, with the catchy title of Silent Films Online. The front page currently claims, “You have access to : 1,068 videos (307 hours).” Considering the number of feature films they have, I would’ve thought it was more hours than that, but I haven’t dug in too deeply yet. Lots of interesting stuff, even though it’s only a fraction of what’s out there in the world. Maybe I can finally get caught up on the work of J. Searle Dawley and William K.L. Dickson!
